About UsAchor Consulting was originally founded in 1993 by Tom Achor, a CPA who --having worked in one of the biggest accounting firms in the world and some of the smallest --decided to go even smaller. The practice originally had a broad focus, if you can say such a thing exists, providing services in accounting staff augmentation, tax preparation, Macintosh consulting and small business controllership. Although some elements of those practices remain, today Tom targets accounting and reporting systems management. It doesn't matter if the organization uses Mac OS-based software, some flavor of Windows, or is tapped into the growing world of Web-based software-as-a-service (SaaS), there are always opportunities to improve practices, derive more effective reporting and reduce waste of materials and time. Achor Consulting is based in the extraordinary city of Portland, Oregon, where mass transit, bicycle commuting and environmental stewardship have long been embraced as if they were perfectly rational, business-friendly undertakings.
